Position: Lead Toddler Teacher

Bridge to Knowledge is looking for a compassionate, caring, and fun toddler teacher to join our team of extraordinary childhood educators! 

​

At Bridge to Knowledge our toddler program offers the young child a unique year and a half to two-year program of self-development, independence, and separation from their infant stage. Our Toddler program is designed for children from 16 to 34 months (ages are approximate based on readiness of the child to move to the Children’s House program. Simple sensorial and practical life activities in the classroom are presented to toddlers’ to help them explore their new world! Large muscle activities take place in and outdoors.

Position Summary: The toddler room teacher is responsible for all aspects of care and education for the children enrolled in his/her class. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: physical care giving, developmental assessments, following age appropriate curricular plan, and facilitation of supportive relationship with owners, co-workers, parents and students.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

*Montessori certificate

*Successful completion of hiring packet, W-4, and all state regulations required for position.

*Successful completion of 12 clock hours of professional class time yearly.

*Comfortable with team-based work structure, ability to demonstrate flexibility on the job.

Job Responsibilities: 

*Serve as a role model for the children in the areas of attitude, speech and actions on a daily basis

*Treat each child with dignity and respect for his/her cultural background.

*Encourage children’s development in the areas of building self-confidence, problem solving, and taking responsibility for their actions

*Interact with each child on a daily basis through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc.

*Be consistent, but lovingly enforce written classroom discipline plan and reward system.

           *Maintain current infant/child CPR and First Aid certification

*Attend all required yearly classes to complete required Minnesota State license requirements.

*Consistently able to carry child up to 50 lbs for up to 100 feet.

*Consistently able to react to child that is 20-30 feet away within 30 seconds

*Consistently able to respond to children’s first aid needs, which may include cuts, bruises, blood/bodily fluids

*Consistently able to deal effectively with the stress involved in working closely with children, parents, coworkers, and administration.

Position: Lead Infant Teacher

Bridge to Knowledge is looking for a compassionate, caring, and fun infant teacher to join our team of extraordinary childhood educators!

 

Job Qualifications:

Preferable to have one year experience working in a center.

Available Monday - Friday.

Completion of the Early Childhood Education degree or CDA that has been approved by MNDHS.

Must pass the MNDHS  background study.

Maintain up to date CPR and First Aid Training, dedicated to ongoing education, including annual training hours as required by DHS, and other professional development required by Bridge to Knowledge.

Able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Reliable transportation.

Abide by MN DHS Rule 3 and Bridge to Knowledge Center policies and procedures.

 

Job Responsibilities to include the following:

Provide a safe and loving environment for the infants in his/her care.

Friendly, patient, and sensitive to the needs of infant’s.

Provide diaper-changing, dressing, feeding and offer comfort.

Responsible, dependable, honest and mature.

Sensitive and respectful communication with parents, including daily updates, displaying children’s photos,  art work and conferences.

Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean.

Light cleaning duties include, sweeping, sanitizing table surfaces and equipment, cleaning toys on a daily basis, laundry and other small duties.

 

Education qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Early Childhood Family Education.

  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with one to two years of center experience.

  • CDA with one to two years of center experience.
